Embracing the Weird Magic Within

How does one become a butterfly?’ she asked pensively. ‘You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.’ ‘You mean to die?’ asked Yellow, remembering the three who fell out of the sky. ‘Yes and No,’ he answered. ‘What looks like you will die, but what’s really you will still live.’

This week has been

a simply magical week.

What started with an epic meltdown

truly teetering on the edge

of the abyss

thinking life was

just not worth living,

ended transformed!

I can’t explain it

other than to say that

a brain-shift occurred!

The person

who thought she couldn’t

make it through,

thought she wasn’t worthy,

and

wasn’t enough

is gone.

Growing into

the person she is supposed to be-

a magical, weird, dark horse,

complete with glitter,

and colorful gossamer wings.

Fully embracing her shadows,

her past, present, future,

and herself.

The caterpillar who

shielded herself in a chrysalis

and turned to a puddle of liquid

is gone-

it’s shell broken wide-open.

Now flying and enough,

transformed by the grace of G-d

into a butterfly!

Hallelujah!

“When she transformed into a butterfly, the caterpillars spoke not of her beauty, but of her weirdness. They wanted her to change back into what she always had been. But she had wings.”
