“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV

Everything in God’s time
according to His plan

I have changed throughout the years.

In the past I thought I knew what life was going to look like after 22,396 days on this planet

not anymore…

“For I know the plans I have for you…”

it’s been a wild ride

full of twists and turns,

good and horrible decisions,

love and loss,

laughter and pain,

along with a trip or several into the vast abyss.

But always,

always,

always,

returning to hope.

Returning to faith.

Returning to God.

“For I know the plans I have for you…”

Life has been filled with reoccurring evidence that whenever I tried to take command and go my own way

God drew me back to Himself

either

gently

or

forcibly through lessons with consequences

cementing the knowledge that I am not in control.

“For I know the plans I have for you…”

The concept of relinquishing control is difficult for my stubborn, overthinking mind.

The same mind who has always been curious and wanted all the answers

to know the outcome before the journey

the end of the book or movie before the beginning

that girl who wanted all the answers.

“For I know the plans I have for you…”

If I have learned one lesson about living

in the last half of my life,

it has to be that everything happens

In God’s time

according to His plan.

I can fight it or accept it, but either way the outcome is the same.

“For I know the plans I have for you…”

I have come to the conclusion

that it’s not my job

to worry about the future

and know every outcome,

except one.

Where I’ll spend eternity.

“For I know the plans I have for you…”

As for life on earth,

it’s more peaceful

without the added stress

of knowing.

  1. There is a powerful nudge with the concept of “returning.” The seemingly invisible hands from above never stop with encouraging us. Blessings to you Lisa!

  2. I love this so much, Lisa. As I read it, I could so much of myself. Too, so much I’ve been needing to remind myself of. I love you my friend and this is beautiful💕
