Well, we couldn’t be satisfied with a little of a good thing

So we made more soap tonight!
We love plain soap
No chemicals, color, swirls, fancy dancy stuff, or fragrance
Just soap
So we made some!
One 5 pound block and two 2.5 pound blocks to be exact
The first half was totally plain and the second half had activated charcoal and bentonite clay added
Activated charcoal is said to draw out toxins from the body
Bentonite clay is said to soften and help with itchy irritated skin
all of which we need in the winter months when it gets really dry in our Ohio climate.
Of course, Bill helped again! He mixed the lye/water again and did the majority of the measuring.
After a couple of spills and a slight mishap when I didn’t double the oil (but remembered just a little later), we’re still married, laughing, and carrying on with life as usual.
Such is life when two people with undiagnosed OCD – imperfect but perfect for each other – both knowing for certain their way is the right way – and love each other despite their imperfections – manage to work together to complete projects.
Despite all that, the soap making went much better this time! We let the oil and the light solution get quite a bit cooler and it was a much better experience during the mixing stage.
Now the mess is cleaned up and the soap is resting – just like we are…
I can’t wait to cut into the smaller bars tomorrow night and the 5 pound bar of plain soap probably on Thursday!
Wish us luck!
XO Lisa (and Bill) ❤️
Wow. Sounds like you guys are really gonna clean up.

Literally! My favorites so far are plain soap with Bentonite Clay and plain soap with activated charcoal. The activated charcoal soap is black and it’s kind of disconcerting at first!
