265 Long Before

For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.

Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.

Long before I was born, God knew me

Before Bill was born, God knew him

Before Larry was born, God knew him

Years before my appearance on earth

the plan was placed in motion

for my life to coincide with two great loves

the events aligned

arranged by God Himself

what I thought were mistakes,

were just way points

to bring the plan to fruition

to get my human brain ready

to accept God’s plan that

was on its way to me.

Long before

If I stop to think about what had to happen

for the plan to unfold, it boggles my mind.

Imagine all the puzzle pieces put together by God

in the course of three lives

for our greatest good

Just thinking about the geography

makes my head spin.

Girl born in small town

moves to Cleveland

11 years after moving

meets boy who was born there

they love and marry

boy dies

girl grieves….

Boy from Florida

works in the north

meets girl from Cleveland

they love and marry

and that’s just the high level view –

imagine the details of three lives.

Today

15 days before the anniversary

of Larry’s great adventure

and 10 days before his Yahrzeit candle

will be lit for the third time

I want to take the opportunity

to thank God for Larry’s life

and the years I was honored to spend in it.

I also want to thank God for Bill

who is loving, kind,

understands that Larry will

always have a place in my heart,

and truly a gift from God.

Our lives came together

in God’s time

when we were both ready.

But God knew
