Well hello little badass calendar…
Isn’t this the truth…
Our first inclination is to surround ourselves with like-minded people.
That’s the truth as well.
People who won’t rock the boat, won’t make us think, don’t have contradictory opinions other than our own.
I prefer it the other way around.
I like to hear the opinions of others.
It doesn’t mean that I have to agree with them and they with me, but I am open and willing to listen.
I am not going to call someone with an opinion different than mine a racist, or any other derogatory term. I’m not going to unfriend them from any social platforms. I might, will, and can ask them to unfriend me though.
Many people only give lipservice to tolerance.
In the heat of the moment on Wednesday, I posted something on social that I have since deleted. It wasn’t kind. I know that I lost several friends and family members as ‘friends’ on social. It’s happened before…
I’m probably better off weeding out intolerance and hatred from my life.
Maybe I’ll get a coexist bumper sticker and put it on my car… wait a minute, that kind of coexist doesn’t apply to people like me who believe as I do. Just saying.
I’m better off living my life of gratitude, telling myself positive things, practicing gratitude, and just leaving it alone…
