Moving

Sometimes when we are on the long, tortuous grief road

moving forward seems impossible.

Stuck is the operative word of the day.

But we are never stuck, per se.

Stuck implies stagnation.

Each new day, new hour, new minute, new second, proves that we are not stuck.

Just the fact that we are alive in whatever state we happen to be in, proves that we are not stuck.

We are always moving.

Let’s define moving

Moving can be

backwards,

forwards,

sideways,

marching in place,

standing silently,

sitting or lying while just breathing (breath movement),

looking around (eye movement),

thinking (brain movement),

crying (tears are moving),

every type of any movement is moving.

We are traveling a long road of grief.

Nobody said it would be easy.

Listen to your body, what do you need?

How are you feeling?

Are you ready to live?

Are you willing to change your outlook?

Have you cried enough? If not, cry some more.

Are you ready to heal? If so, be an active participant in your healing from the wounds of grief. Ask for help if you need it.

But please –

never, ever, say that you are Stuck!

Lisa, this post reminds me that life is always moving, like the gentle Scioto flowing toward its big brother, the Ohio. All of us can find a nugget of meaning from your discussion. Thanks for sharing.
