Well hello little badass calendar…

You have got to be kidding me!

“Done is better than perfect?” the statement makes my skin crawl.

Tell that to the heart surgeon or the person saving my life in the event of an emergency. I hope the pilot flying the plane in a snowstorm doesn’t think done is better than perfect, or we’re all toast.

Honestly, I can think of numerous situations where done is certainly not better than perfect.

“Done is better than perfect” is a cop-out.

I wonder what my boss would say if I adopted the attitude that “Done is better than perfect.”

But even more importantly, I know what I would say to myself… and it wouldn’t be good.

I will admit that in some areas “Done is better than perfect” – eg. housework, organization, using swear words while writing, and decluttering the basement. But things that really matter, that I take pride in, like my work, ethics, self-esteem, I strive for being as close to perfect as I can be.

I know it isn’t really healthy to try to be practically perfect, so I limit my quest for practical perfection to my work. My parents taught me to try to do everything I do to the best of my ability.

Work ethic is a pet peeve of mine. I believe that it is becoming a lost art.

Regardless, I am grateful that my parents hammered it into my head.

XO Lisa ❤️ living a gratitude filled life!

  1. I agree with you. Done is not necessarily better than perfect.

  2. Again, my twin….absolutely right! Doing a half-assed job to call it done, isn’t done at all!
It’s a consistent problem that you’re going to have to constantly deal with making a simple job into an more difficult and time consuming one. Doing anything the right way, saves effort, time and your sanity! Lol
    Love you, Lisa!
    Wishing you a wonderful day!
