Moving Forward Music musings Thoughts on Grief

Thoughts on Grief XXXVIII

Music has helped me through some dark times… it has also provided home and helped me reclaim my life!

“Without music, life would be a mistake.”

― Friedrich Nietzsche, Twilight of the Idols

“May you live every day of your life.”

― Jonathan Swift

“We have to dare to be ourselves, however frightening or strange that self may prove to be.”

― May Sarton

“I must say a word about fear. It is life’s only true opponent. Only fear can defeat life. It is a clever, treacherous adversary, how well I know. It has no decency, respects no law or convention, shows no mercy. It goes for your weakest spot, which it finds with unnerving ease. It begins in your mind, always … so you must fight hard to express it. You must fight hard to shine the light of words upon it. Because if you don’t, if your fear becomes a wordless darkness that you avoid, perhaps even manage to forget, you open yourself to further attacks of fear because you never truly fought the opponent who defeated you.”

― Yann Martel, Life of Pi

“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

― J.K.Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”

― Socrates

“Music is … A higher revelation than all Wisdom & Philosophy”

― Ludwig van Beethoven

Find music that resonates with your soul…

and listen to it on repeat.
