Moving Forward Unapologetically Real

Unapologetically Real 21

“Let the first act of every morning be to make the following resolve for the day:

– I shall not fear anyone on Earth.
– I shall fear only God.
– I shall not bear ill will toward anyone.
– I shall not submit to injustice from anyone.
– I shall conquer untruth by truth. And in resisting untruth, I shall put up with all suffering.”

Mahatma Gandhi

I looked at my topic list for Unapologetically Real to see what I could write about in my funky present state of mind.

Let’s see:

Hope – a bit short on that subject today

Friendship – sometimes even questioning friendships, so no

Giving – not in the mood

Love – not on the horizon?

Connections – losing hope

Happiness – won’t touch that today

Curiosity – always, but not feeling it this minute

So I settled on Peace

because I desperately need some.

How do I find peace when I wake up in a flying funk fuzzy head I don’t ever feel as though I get enough sleep and am descending into darkness state of mind?

“Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.”

Albert Einstein

Okay, Albert, show me the way to understanding.

My peace is cyclic

seasonal

transient

some days

non-existent

and

I

Need

to

Let go

and

Go

With

the

Flow.

It’s okay to have a

flying funk fuzzy head I don’t ever feel as though I get enough sleep and am descending into darkness state of mind

day.

It’s okay to

feel alone.

It’s okay to

be short on hope.

It’s okay to

question friendships.

It’s okay to not see

love on the horizon.

It’s okay to feel as though

deep connections will not happen.

It’s okay to

have an unhappy day.

It’s okay to

not question why.

I am becoming an expert

at riding the waves of the storm.

“There is peace even in the storm”

Vincent van Gogh, The Letters of Vincent van Gogh

So ride I will

into this storm

“Sometimes fate is like a small sandstorm that keeps changing directions. You change direction but the sandstorm chases you. You turn again, but the storm adjusts. Over and over you play this out, like some ominous dance with death just before dawn. Why? Because this storm isn’t something that has nothing to do with you, This storm is you. Something inside you. So all you can do is give in to it, step right inside the storm, closing your eyes and plugging up your ears so the sand doesn’t get in, and walk through it, step by step. There’s no sun there, no moon, no direction, no sense of time. Just fine white sand swirling up the sky like pulverized bones.”

Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore

Ride I will

through the heart of this storm

never going under

or drowning in

the hurricane of emotion

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…It’s about learning to dance in the rain.”

Vivian Greene

I will dance in this storm

laughing

until calm returns…

Then

continue

to dance.

“Then the storm broke, and the dragons danced.”

George R.R. Martin, Fire & Blood

Dancing with dragons brings a smile of peace.

XO Lisa ❤️ living a gratitude filled life!
