Christmas Reflections – In Loving Memory Of and Onward Ho

Happy day after…

My bittersweet yet happy Christmas was spent with family

The day was festive with smiles and an undercurrent of sadness.

My Sister Linda and I among her snowman collection
My Aunt and I after our lunch together

Remembering loved ones with traditions observed:

“A Christmas Story” playing on continuous loop – check

Thoughtful gifts given and received – check

Chinese takeout – check

Chinese Takeout and Chicken nuggets- Magic waiting to happen

Fireball remembrance shots – check

One for Lawrence and another for daughter-in-love Sarah’s mom Beth

I didn’t take many pictures because I wanted to be fully present in the day with my family. Here are some highlights:

Loving her bear made from Paw Paw’s shirts (while wearing her new mermaid swimsuit).
Going outside in his sister’s boots and coat!
Grabbing a quick nap after dinner
Watching Frozen at the end of the day…

Then there were these gifts, that made me cry:

Through all the merriment this song was running through my head:

Another first done, another milestone passed

with love and support from family, friends, and community,

songs sent in messages,

texts and wishes received throughout the day,

much love, hugs, and kisses from littles,

and traditions old and new

I made it through Christmas…

Onward Ho to 2020 with a rejuvenated spirit

and good things to come!
