Today
the day after yesterday
I woke up.
Thankful
for friends who
took me to dinner
and made me
laugh until I snorted…
For texts
messages
Facebook wishes
(yes, I checked)
calls from kids
hearing my grand littles’
sweet voices on the phone
gracious comments
on blog posts
community
only one meltdown
on another first
milestone passed.
Now two more
to come, then a
brief break from
official firsts.
Why does each day
seem like the
first day?
When
every day is
the day after yesterday
a new day
to be
thankful.
