The dragonfly lights
shone bright tonight
I heard them reminiscing
of our summer nights on the porch
enjoying the stillness.
But the frozen icicles
hanging in the background
seemed to thumb their noses and say
as a stark reminder
that summer is far away.
I will be dreaming warm dreams of summer tonight.
