Well hello little badass calendar

New and better WORDS = New and better WORLDS
I am always looking to improve myself and my life.
In order to create a better world
I have to change my self-talk,
habits,
and go about filling in those negative ruts with positive change.
I have to redirect the flow of my life that has created the ruts!
What flow do I want to dam up first in order to go about filling in the negative ruts with positive change?
Should I tackle the biggest ruts first,
or concentrate on the small ones?
I have been damming up ruts for what seems forever.
Some big, many small.
Frequently a dam has been attacked
due to lessons unlearned
or listening to outside influences like
well-meaning friends
the media
social norms
so-called professionals
or ingrained negative self-talk,
causing me to cascade down the hill and spiral into hopelessness,
secretly doubting my ability to patch the hole in that particular area in order to start over.

Sometimes the dam is demolished
by situations outside my control,
sending burning water of pain cascading down the mountain,
flooding my soul with anguish.
Because repairing dams takes time
(and I don’t employ an army of beavers),
I must set goals and decide which repairs are most to least important.

Which rut do I need to address first?
Can I address more than one repair at once?
My basement that remains uncleaned due to apprehension, procrastination, or both?
Larry’s belongings that are still here due to my apprehension?
My BMI which has gone up a bit since lockdown?
Can ruts be beautiful?
I am still thinking about these things and more.
But riddle me this, is prolonged thinking without action just another form of procrastination?
XO Lisa ❤️ living a gratitude filled life!
Lisa, your unique voice reminds me of some of the past and present ruts in my own life. So true when our dam bursts, we definitely need more than a cadre of beavers to make repairs.
