“…it was like having a pet nuclear device.”
Gary Paulsen
Oh yes, you read that right…
Roxie the dog decided to run after a black and white furry “cat” at 5:30 am this morning and got more than she bargained for…
More than we bargained for in all actuality.
After making it three or four steps into the house
she’s been hanging out on the front porch
(along with the entry way rug).

Perhaps as penance
and certainly to avoid anymore skunk odor in the house
but the damage is done
I made an early morning trip to Wally World for peroxide, baking soda, and massive amounts of air freshener
Now the concoction is mixed
and I am waiting for it to warm up a little so both of us don’t freeze when she gets her first outside bath.
Thankfully Bill will take over when he gets home from work
with clippers and another bath in store
for the old dog
who didn’t learn her lesson the last time.
But she isn’t alone-
I can think of many lessons that I didn’t learn the first time –
even the second or third trip around
So I’ll give 13 year old Roxie a break and push my comfort aside to get the process started
I am sure she feels worse than I do
at the present moment
And remember:
“In the land of the skunks he who has half a nose is king”
Chris Farley
Wish me luck
We’ll both need it!
XO Lisa ❤️
Catching up to you Lisa. Indeed, we can all remember missteps in our own lives. Sometimes it takes extra time and effort to be restored. Thankfully, God always lends a hand. Blessings to you and Bill.

Oh, man! I am also amazed that a dog who has tangled with one of those black and white kitties ever goes near one again but…yikes! I have been there and done that. Sympathies to all, lol.

Thank you so much Herb. She had a new haircut and another bath later yesterday!
