Gratitude Series Moving Forward

Rona Musings Gratitude Day Four

I am grateful for friends —

of all shapes, sizes, sexes, and skin coverings.

I love hearing different perspectives that prove my belief that regardless of our outside appearance, we are all human beings.

Human beings who love, cry, grieve, feel emotions, and most importantly, support each other.

I have something to say about what has gone on in the USA in the last few days:
Don’t buy into the rhetoric being pushed by the media. The people who are burning and looting have an agenda: to cause division. The media wants to push their own agenda as well. They do not care.

The many people whom I know do not see race. We may look different on the outside, but that’s just a covering. We see people, human beings, hearts and souls.
There are good and not-so-good people everywhere.

I have many friends whose skin coverings look different than mine. They are also disgusted by the rioters tearing up our towns.

I get the struggles. I understand the fear. I have faced both my entire life. Different, but similar emotions.

I am not, nor have I ever been or felt privileged. I am not, nor have I ever felt entitled- to anything that I didn’t work for.

Therefore, I do not see race- I see human beings.

XO Lisa

  1. We, as a nation, need to find a common agenda. Only then can we have a civilized avenue to find long-lasting answers.
