Badass Grateful self-talk

Words

Words

Words

Words can change everything.

I am one who has had to learn to think before I speak

(most of the time,

especially in a business setting).

I continually have to temper my speech and my typing.

Thoughts can be quite sharp.

This girl can make a sailor blush at times.

When I am extremely upset or passionate about an issue, the f-bombs just may fly unfettered.

Self-talk

makes all the difference as well.

If I think of sad things

I am sad.

If I think my world is crumbling

it will crumble.

If I think I am powerful

I will be powerful.

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

Proverbs 23:7

I might want to break my potty-mouth habit after reading this missive from Proverbs, because I really don’t want to be that person. My mom would always exhort, “Lisa Mae, ladies don’t use that word!”

But isn’t it the truth that the real self cannot stay hidden for long, especially when we are comfortable in a situation?

By staying true to myself and also unapologetically real,

I’ll have to find other words to express extreme displeasure…

Potty mouth no longer reflects the person I am –

or the person I wish to be.

Well, that was self talk at its best for all the world to see…

“I’ve been thinking.”

“A dangerous pursuit.”

“Indeed.”
