Well hello little badass calendar…

Good question,
especially for the USA…
especially now…
Wait, that calendar was speaking to me personally…
not going to get political
not going to get political
not going to get political…
I seem to remember a song that I used to sing long ago.
It received a lot of radio play at the time.
Truthfully, at the time, way back when, I got sick of it.
Between radio play, singing it in choir, la la la, you get the point,
the message got lost.
When I searched for the song on YouTube, I was surprised at how many versions there were! I was especially enamored with this one.
The message needs to be resurrected.
Although I am not sure that it is entirely possible, we need peace.
The constant bombardment of negativity must stop.
Instead of family turning against family, neighbors hating neighbors, governments opposing people, countries warring with countries,
we should be able to live in peace.
But sometimes it is impossible to wrap one’s head around philosophies so diametrically opposed to long-held belief systems, i.e. good vs. evil, love vs. hate, truth vs. lies.
Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy.
Proverbs 12:20
While I try my very best every day to be the biggest, happiest, most generous, and fully realized humanoid,
many days I fail
because I am a realist at heart.
I know that peace on earth is not possible with the state of the world as it is today,
Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Psalm 34:4
yet I crave peace,
need joy,
and seek calm in the storm.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4: 6-7
I will never forget my grandparents on their knees every night
(they were badass prayer warriors – the biggest, happiest, most generous, and fully realized humanoids I know)
praying
storming heaven’s gates
interceding vehemently
for their loved ones,
friends,
church.,
and country.
It’s time for us to bow down to G-d
and get on our knees,
literally.
None of this mamby-pamby comfy chair say a quick prayer with head on the pillow stuff.
We need to pray like my badass grandparents prayed.
The future depends on it.
Please pray with me…
Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
Matthew 18: 19-20
