“The power of a bold idea uttered publicly in defiance of dominant opinion cannot be easily measured. Those special people who speak out in such a way as to shake up not only the self-assurance of their enemies, but the complacency of their friends, are precious catalysts for change.”
― Howard Zinn, You Can’t Be Neutral on a Moving Train: A Personal History of Our Times
I know
I’m not for everyone…
My content sometimes goes against the popular grain.
My thoughts do not toe party lines.
I am an individualist.
“One of my rules is never to look sideways at what other people are doing but instead, do what I feel is right.”
― Annie Bryant, Worst Enemies/Best Friends
I learned to trust my intuition at an early age
The times when I ignored it…
let’s just say it was a mistake of major proportions.
“Some people hate people who are overconfident, only because their overconfidence reminds them of their under confidence.”
― Mokokoma Mokhonoana
I am an introvert…
don’t usually shout my confidence from the rooftops…
However,
There are four things I am confident about:
1, G-d is in control
2. Romans 8:28 “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
3. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
4. When I close my eyes on earth I will be in the presence of G-d and those who have preceded me.
I am grounded in these four things that I know.
My soul is calm,
my eyes look steadily ahead beyond anything on earth
because this world is not my final destination,
it is but my transient home.
For that, I am eternally grateful.
There is something to be said
about not being concerned about the world.
It makes one unafraid
about the next tidbit of news,
about what will happen in the future,
about who is or will be in control.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11
Always remember Who is in control.
