Today I am grateful for freedom from worry that comes from caring about what others think, and personal boundaries…

“The warrior’s approach
is to say “yes” to life:
“yea” to it all.
Participate joyfully
In the sorrows of the world.
We cannot cure the world of sorrows,
but we can choose to live in joy.
When we talk about
settling the world’s problems,
we’re barking up the wrong tree.
The world is perfect. It’s a mess.
It has always been a mess.
We are not going to change it.
Our job is to straighten out
our own lives.”
– Joseph Campbell
Imagine
for a moment,
living in joyful peace
without worry
without trying to change
the world
or anybody else.
Without caring one bit
what others think…
Instead,
me changing me
you changing you –
but only if you want
… and being okay with that.
No guilt trips,
no “you need to do this,”
“I need to do that”
to be loved
to be lovable.
No pressure
… had enough of that growing up.
… already know how “I am supposed to act”
I just want to be me.
I want to be kind to others
and I want that in return.
I want to be accepted
for who I am.
Live in a world
where I can be me
and you can be you.
I will not accept anything less
in my world…
Now let me tell you what I will NOT accept
from anyone.
These are hard limits:
I will never be submissive,
expected to change
(unless I want to),
berated,
told what to do,
lied to,
or cheated on.
I require open and honest communication,
unconditional love
and acceptance.
I will never ask for less
from the right person,
than I am willing to give
to that right person.
Life is too short to
worry
live a fake life
care about if others like me
and not be authentically
myself.

Very profound and well written. Love the pic that goes with your poem.
