Today I am grateful for
expecting good things!
Even though expectations
sometimes end up
biting me in the ass.
Sound a bit cynical?
I have always endeavored to live my life treating others as I wish to be treated.
I expect others to do the same.
I also expect people to be honest.
Not hurt others and then hide behind excuses, or fancy talk.
I have come to these realizations many times in my life, but even so, when they happen over and over again I am surprised.
Why is that?
I don’t want to be cynical.
I wish everyone could just get along.
I believe that everyone on this planet has more similarities than differences.
Yet, there are those who promote themselves as facilitating healing journeys, when in reality they are practicing self-aggrandizement.
There are those who say they are fighting injustice peacefully, while destroying the property and lives of others.
There are those who pretend to be peaceful, but who will turn hateful in an instant.
There are those who shun others due to differences in belief or skin color from prejudice.
There are those who are intolerant, but preach religious values.
Yes, this is humanity.
But does it have to be this way?
Does it really?
Life is too short to live with no expectations.
Because I believe what the mind believes is manifested outwardly,
if I expect nothing,
I will receive just that.
Life is too short NOT to EXPECT GOOD THINGS!
When I expect to be treated with respect,
I will be treated with respect, or I will move on.
When I expect good things,
they will happen, or I will learn the lesson.
The mind manifests what it believes.
The people with huge egos but promote themselves as tolerant healers, will show their true colors. Those who do not intend peace will destroy more than property- lives will hang in the balance. Prejudice and intolerance are nothing more than cowardice.
As for the examples I gave above, individuals who embody those characteristics have no place in my orbit.
I must do what is right for me.
Take care of myself.
Discern what is for my highest good.
I am grateful for and expect
