“Always remember people who have helped you along the way, and don’t forget to lift someone up.”

“The highest tribute to the dead is not grief but gratitude.”
― Thornton Wilder
Larry’s twin cousin Barry put together the service for the headstone unveiling. I read it this morning. I cried. It is a beautiful tribute and reflects their bond, and Larry… especially the end. Whenever I think of the two of them together in my mind, I see laughter and joking, and a love that will last forever.
I am grateful for Barry and Janis who did so much for me in the days right after Larry died, and continue to love and support. I love you both.
Many times, the family of a spouse who has died disappears. The pain is too great to keep in touch. I am fortunate that did not happen in my situation. I am grateful for Larry’s family who continue to love and support me.
So yes,
I am grateful for
for feelings of
lightness,
acceptance,
peace,
love,
and family –
all helping me on my journey towards healing.

Lisa, your sharing of this message carries hope for others. I was just listening to a song a few minutes ago, “Lean on Me.” Its theme complements your discussion quite well. Praise God for others whom we can lean on when we need their comfort and love most.
