Musings Who is Brave Enough?

Who is brave enough

to sit with the bereaved?

To sit in silence

on sad days

to offer wordless support,

not advice,

but share the pain,

and share their storm.

Not try to intrude

not try to quell the tears,

not say ‘You need to go out’,

‘You need to do this’,

‘You need to do that’,

not give suggestions,

just sit…

Sometimes when in pain,

one needs someone

just to be present.

Who is brave enough to just sit?

Silently.
