Everyone grieves differently
My path through grief
may not be yours
Some prefer hugs
Some prefer “I’m sorry”

I prefer stories
Tell me a story about my love
Tell me how he touched your life
Tell me how he made you laugh
Tell me stories of before we met
Say his name
So he won’t be forgotten
Let me know him
as you did

Will I cry?
Certainly
Let’s cry together
Might I laugh?
I hope so
Let’s laugh together
Will I get to know him as you do?
Absolutely!
Let’s talk about my love

Help me make it through
This wilderness of grief
