Not Your Average Joe

Our children and I made picture boards
for my love’s shiva.
My daughter pulled out the magnet collection
from his extensive travels and
searched until she found just the right magnets
to use to help hold the pictures in place.

After the shiva
when I opened the box to put the magnets away,
“Not Your Average Joe” was right on top!
I took that as a message
that my love was still with me.
“Not Your Average Joe“ succinctly described
his personality.
My daughter and I both agreed
that had we noticed this magnet
while we were preparing the boards,
it would have been front and center…
“Not Your Average Joe”
has taken up residence on the refrigerator
to remind me that my love is never far away.
