April Snow…
If April showers bring May flowers, what does April snow bring?
Trees with limbs bowing to the ground as if to pray for sunny days
Colorful birds at the feeder, posing for pictures as if to say “thank you”.
Roxie the dog gingerly stepping in the snow,
only to retreat to do her morning business in the driveway…
This beauty posing on the bush outside my window
bringing cheer and, according to folklore, a visit from beyond.
The daylily garden covered in snow
with a good bit of it carefully brushed off with my witches’ broom
and a prayer that the plants will survive
Miss Roxie relaxing on the bed, as she does for most of the day…
The snow is pretty and I am grateful for the views,
but I am ready for spring to be here for good!

Lisa, it looks like you had more snow than down here. Thankfully, it melted rather quickly. This morning took me back to Montana where winter generally wakes up in April.
