Well hello little badass calendar…

30 days to form a habit.
Wednesday evening, a great group of ladies and I participated in a ZOOM pajama party. There were games, laughter, and camaraderie abounded.
One of the exercises was to write the things we wanted to leave behind with 2020 on tissue paper, place it in an empty paper roll (I used a TP roll), then write the things we desired for 2021 (intentions) on the outside of the roll.
The last step in the process was to set the tubes ablaze in the new year, destroying the things we want to leave behind and sending out intentions to the Universe (G-d).

I found it interesting while watching the tube burn, that the tissue paper inside (old to let go) had to burn before the surrounding paper could be set ablaze (new intentions).
Watching the progression of the burn reminded me of life.
In order to make lasting change, heal, or begin anew, one must set intentions for the future, give up the old, surrender all control, walk through the fire, turn to ash, and rise.
I seem to be a master at burning to the ground (for different reasons) and rising from the ashes as a new creation.
Wishing you the courage to forge new beginnings in 2021.

That is cool. This shows how rituals can help us. Wishing you a good new year, one that is better than the last. May your intentions come into fruition!

Thank you Lisa! Surrendering ourselves from the past can free us to begin afresh. May the year continue to refresh your spirit with hope and peace.
