Today I am grateful

for five days off

opportunities to relax

chill out

spend time away.

No overthinking

no pressure

17 months ago I was unsure if happiness was possible

Grief and mourning were the only lenses my eyes were looking through.

I was unable to see the path ahead, let alone the destination.

Grief is hard, brutal work.

Mourning is hard and comes in waves.

It does get better,

but I wouldn’t have believed it last year,

even if someone had told me.

With that said, although memories are happier, tears still flow at the most inopportune times.

Understanding friends help.

When you find one, be grateful.

When the mind is silent, be grateful.

When the present is not overshadowed by the past, be exceedingly grateful.

I am.

XO Lisa ❤️ living a gratitude filled life!
