“The more you give, the less you need.”― Stephen Richards
I love finding the perfect gift.
The thought required.
The search and intent to find it.
Listening for clues.
Solving the puzzle.
Seeing or hearing the joy of the recipient gives me great joy in return.
“Transformations happen when the center of your life is to be a giver.”― Richie Norton
When questioned every year, “What do you want for Christmas?” or “What do you want for your birthday?”
My response is always the same, “Nothing, I have everything I need and more.”
My perfect gifts are intangible.
Gifts of love, time, memories, (and pictures).
Love is the only thing we take with us when we die,
time spent together is how memories are made,
pictures are how I will remember the memories when my memory is gone.
I already have so many gifts:
and intact self-respect.
I have experienced soul-bending love, excruciating loss, extreme hardship,
and unbelievable ecstacy in this life with the milestone birthday in 28 days.
I feel so much gratitude for all these things that I need nothing more,
Because the perfect gifts are chosen with thought and intent –
they are not material, but come from the heart.
“Money is not the only commodity that is fun to give. We can give time, we can give our expertise, we can give our love or simply give a smile. What does that cost? The point is, none of us can ever run out of something worthwhile to give.”― Steve Goodier
