I posted this picture in my blog post Fall” (quoted below) on 6 November 2019:

Fall

“The harbinger of change

Leaves fall like tears

Heralding the frozen landscape

of winter in the soul.

But spring is promised

with growth

and

new life.

Seasons change.

change is

constant

reliable

freeing

surprising

anticipated

an adventure

an invitation

to begin anew

a gift from G-d.”

— Lisa Preisler

Fall’s backyard is much the same

but one year and three days later

my life

feels different

my heart

is no longer heavy

I can truly say

that I am happy.

I can speak of Larry

without sadness.

Tears still fall occasionally

but sadness passes quicker.

Yesterday was the first day

I spent the day

the whole day

not sad.

Not once

and yes, Larry was mentioned in conversation,

but no tears.

Another milestone…

a new day

perhaps a paradigm shift

maybe a real harbinger of change

but feeling good!

XO Lisa ❤️ living a gratitude filled life!
