More Gratitude Day 110

I walked outside to the most beautiful sight:

A lone daylily blooming

In the midst of the fall foliage die-off

surrounded by leaves

turning brown,

the lone flower bloomed

as if to say

“I am not ready for fall-

it’s not time to die.”

I think there is a life lesson

in this little flower…

Amidst the pain of life,

when turmoil abounds,

death close by,

even when those around us

give up,

we can defy the odds

and BLOOM!
