Thoughts on Grief XXIV

I’ve heard it said

“Life is a series

Of choices.”

.

I have decided

To honor my love’s memory

By choosing to smile more

And find three things

To be grateful for each day

.

Lawrence always wanted

Me to smile more

It was hard,

watching my love deal

with Illness

It was stressful

.

But then he’d make me laugh

And say

”There’s that smile!”

.

Now I choose to smile

Though I am sad

And be grateful and thankful

Through my inevitable tears

Because I was blessed to have

A wonderful husband

and

Blessings are continuing

To come my way

Through family, friends,

and unexpected sources

.

All are gifts

From G-d
