Thoughts on Grief XIX

Good intentions

are not always the best advice

when grieving-

even from friends

*

I’m sure that it’s tough and

uncomfortable

to see me sad and

grieving

but

those who have

traveled this road

will lean in

listen

share stories of

how they coped

*

Grief over a loss

never truly ends

because love

never ends

*

I will weave grief

into my new life

as long as I breathe

there will be laughter,

fun, thankfulness, and tears

along the way

*

But I will never be exactly

who I was before

nor do I want to be
