“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
― Roger Caras
Well, we did a thing…
After sweet Roxie left us to join Larry and Rusty
My tenderhearted
loving husband
was distraught
When we got home from dropping Roxie off at the vet and I was picking up toys, bowls, and beds
it really hit home
I had been back on the computer for merely one-half hour
trying to work through tears
and losing the battle
when Bill came in with tears of his own
phone in hand
and showed me a picture
of a puppy
He couldn’t imagine
life without
a dog
and while Miss Roxie will always be remembered
and could never be replaced
not long after
we were on the road
traveling northwest to Michigan
with some trepidation (on my part)
to meet the breeders
at North Country Kennel Club
in Fremont, MI
who had available puppies
The owners were amazing people –
seasoned breeders of multigenerational labradoodles
their home and kennel facilities
were immaculate
who had four gorgeous puppies left from a litter of 10

While he went with another puppy in mind
laid back Ozzie met enthusiastic Bill
– chose him –
and won his heart

it was a match made in heaven

Mr. Ozzie is settling in just fine
he loves his toys
is playing fetch
getting used to the leash
gives and receives copious lovey doveys
gets belly rubs galore
and has only chewed on one shoe…
All is as it should be
and I am grateful
XO Lisa 🐾❤️
PS – Yes, I know it was quick – but absolutely the right decision for us!
awww I totally get it, Lisa.. much love xo

Yes! Last night when he was tired Ozzie got up and walked into his crate.
He’s a smart little guy!
