I was awakened this morning
by a wagging tail
and bright eyes.
Two poos complete with squeaky toys, eating, drinking, no longer skittish and afraid in the yard.
As the vet said, yesterday was the worst day.
Friday night was sleepless
I ran every scenario through my mind
up to and including the unthinkable.
But Roxie the wonder dog
seems to be back to her normal self
another loss I don’t have to face
just yet.
