Musings Gratitude Day 77

Today, I am grateful for my Mom

Not only because it’s her birthday –

the fourth birthday since she left earth

but also because I had the privilege

Of being her daughter,

receiving her unconditional love

and guidance

for more than 55 years.

She told such good stories.

She loved to laugh.

She could look through the facade

to see the brutal truth

and smack me over the head with it.

Her cooking was legendary-

just ask my children…

She was a good friend,

a loving wife,

and a spectacular mother.

Everyone who knew her loved her.

Happy Birthday Mom!
