Scars

Image: Facebook

Wow!

Showing scars;

What a concept.

They’re not as pretty as

tattoos

or airbrushed versions of

perfection.

But truthfully,

I really don’t know anyone

who doesn’t have a scar

or 10- maybe more.

The question becomes,

are we going to allow

the scars to define us,

who we are now,

our very being?

Or are we going to

allow them to heal,

learn the lessons,

embrace them,

tell their stories,

and ignore the

narratives they

try to place

in our psyches?

Scars are signs of

healing, overcoming,

past mistakes, past trauma,

having a past.

Read that again and

notice the positive:

Healing, overcoming,

past, past, and past.

Nowhere did I

mention:

defining, pain,

present, or future.

S C A R S

are thicker than skin

and make us strong.

Fighting to overcome

makes us Warriors!

Don’t focus on the scars.

Focus on the lessons,

the future,

telling your stories to hopefully

give hope to others.

Be a W A R R I O R

and embrace your scars,

your life, your future!

Just be real!

XO Lisa
