My Love adored our grandchildren.
One of his last wishes was that they never forget him.
While I don’t believe anyone will let that happen, I wanted something concrete to give each of them for the holidays that would be a reminder of Grandpa.
Thanks to a connection through my sister-by-choice Wendi, Bridgette at The Crafty Butrfly and her bears was my perfect unaware angel. Every bear was cut out from three shirts. The unused fabric was shredded then used to stuff each bear. I added the heart buttons and laminated tags.
As you can see from the smiles and hugging going on, the bears will be loved. Hopefully they will be conversation starters so Grandpa’s stories will be passed down to those he loved with all his heart.
Oh my, bears
Hugged by littles
With big smiles
Makes this grandma’s heart
overflow with love.

A wonderful way to bring out memories and smiles! God’s peace!

I have heard of this! My cousin sewed one for herself out of a loved one’s shirts. A lovely idea!
I know your grandchildren will treasure this forever! 💕💕

I am so happy that my friend found Bridgette. I could have completed this project myself- a few years from now perhaps. But still would have cried my way through it…

That’s beautiful. I still have a stuffed animal my grandma made for me.

Thank you. I know you cherish your animal made with love by your grandma.
I still have my childhood teddy bear. He’s a little worse for the wear because I love(d) him dearly.
