Today I am grateful for waking up at 4 am

I had time to watch this movie:

I will be watching this again, and again.

I will be writing about it for a long time to come.

“There is perhaps nothing worse than reaching the top of the ladder

and discovering that you’re on the wrong wall.”

― Joseph Campbell

I need time to digest it,

absorb it

feel it

I thought about Larry while I watched this movie…

we discussed Mythology quite often.

Honestly, I wasn’t a fan until we met.

I fancied myself a realist.

Still am, to a point.

He was an even bigger reader than I

(and that’s saying something).

He especially loved Mythology.

Drawing parallels.

Deep thought.

This movie put it together for me.

I wandered the pathless forest:

“You enter the forest
at the darkest point,
where there is no path.

Where there is a way or path,
it is someone else’s path.

You are not on your own path.

If you follow someone else’s way,
you are not going to realize
your potential.”
― Joseph Campbell

Set up residence in the abyss:

“It is by going down into the abyss that we recover the treasures of life. Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.”

― Joseph Campbell

Shed the life I left behind:

“We must be willing to get rid of
the life we’ve planned, so as to have
the life that is waiting for us.

The old skin has to be shed
before the new one can come.

If we fix on the old, we get stuck.
When we hang onto any form,
we are in danger of putrefaction.

Hell is life drying up.”
― Joseph Campbell

I am grateful for plunging into

a new period of life:

Happiness

Joy

Following my bliss

“When you follow your bliss…doors will open where you would not have thought there would be doors, and where there wouldn’t be a door for anyone else. ”

― Joseph Campbell

I am

Ready!

Get set!

“Deep down inside, we don’t seek the meaning of life, but the experience of being alive.”

― Joseph Campbell

Go!

Onward with gratitude…
