Happy one-year anniversary to my husband Bill
who will not go to bed without making me laugh
even when I am in the foulest of moods
People say we are twins
(usually as an insult, but we take it as a compliment)…
It isn’t common that two people believe the same things
process thoughts in a similar fashion
calm one another down
refuse to let the other jump off the edge of the abyss
and serve as an island of sanity in an insane world
But that’s how it is in this crazy house
Except when it comes to the birds
Bill is the bird guy now
He’s taken over the maintenance
and filling of the feeders
adding new and trashing old
the bird feeder landscape is ever-changing in the front yard…
but the raccoons, skunks, and possums (oh my!)
were driving him crazy!
One of the three were raiding the peanut feeder nightly
going so far as to pull the feeder up in the tree
and wrap it around the limb
in order to feast on the contents
But my southern-born, quasi-redneck, MacGyver husband came up with the perfect solution
A brick!
Just a simple brick
wired to the top of the feeder
to make it heavy enough that the offender
could not pull the feeder up
but placed in a fashion
to not render the squirrel-guard useless
Genius!
as southern-born, quasi-redneck, MacGyver
solutions go…
and much better than
getting hit with a brick
upside the head!
However,
when Bill and I met
two bricks who were
set in their ways
joined together
fell in love
and
are proving
that:
