Music has been a part of my life since basically the beginning.

My very first memory of music is my daddy picking me up and dancing with me to Nat King Cole singing “Mona Lisa” – and giggling.

My mom always had the radio going during the day and we would sing along to all the great songs of the 60s. I was a bandie (brass instruments), sang in choir, show choir, and plays. I even did a short stint in community theater.

So it would make sense that I use music for therapy, now wouldn’t it?

This is my current therapeutic playlist. Since I don’t have time to post links, look them up if you’re interested. XO- Lisa

  1. Lisa, thanks for sharing your thoughts about music. Many of us find therapy in one form or another from music. I played clarinet before focusing more on athletics in the 10th grade. I am listening to some past hits from the 60s and 70s while I read some posts this morning.

  2. I had the privilege of meeting you today, your love for this man was evident and honesty, sincere and overwhelming. You made the hair on my arms stand up and gave me goosebumps when you talked about him. Your words are so truthful and absolutely come from deep rooted feelings that hopefully we’ll all understand one day. Thank you for sharing your journey…. certainly not an easy not an easy one. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing your story and how much you absolutely loved the 11 years you were about to spend with such a beautiful soul. Your words and description of him tell so much about the person he was and the legacy he leaves.

  3. Ahhh those precious memories! My life has always been filled with music as well! My mom’s family loved to have outdoor get-togethers, where there was a variety of hymns, country music, bluegrass and the oldies played. There were lots of guitars, manolins, banjos, fiddles, spoons, Jews harp and wonderful singing! I miss those days! And then my sister would play her record albums when we were growing up. I have always loved music!
